Turtlenecks and Chains is the second studio album by The Lonely Island, a comedic music group led by SNL star, Andrew Samberg. Just like the iconic show, the group delivers an album full of awkward joke-songs and a comedic sense of humour. Though I find it very hard for the music to be taken seriously, I must admit that some parts of this album did make me laugh... Inside!
No matter how unrealistic this album might sound, the band were still able to pull in some star power to deliver features on the album, Jack Sparrow (featuring Michael Bolton), Shy Ronnie 2 (featuring Rihanna) and I Just Had Sex (featuring Akon). Other stars featured on this album include Justin Timberlake, Snoop Dogg and Nicki Minaj.
Mix hip-hop, pop and comedy all together into one single creation and you get the sound of the Lonely Island, an unconventional album with some silly songs that is sure to win Best Comedy Album at the Grammys.
