MTV Movie Awards 2011

This years MTV Movie Awards came with its notable moments but still lacked in some other parts. The show kicked off with an All Star opening skit that included Host, Jason Sudeikis, Taylor Lautner and funny woman, Chelsea Handler. Jason Sudeikis of Saturday Night Live fame displayed his comedic skills throughout the night, taking jabs at some of our favourite celebrities. Though I think as the show went on, his jokes got less-amusing, I still think he did a great job hosting the show. Like I mentioned earlier, the show had its moments (the Robert Pattinson-Taylor Lautner Kiss, the Selena Gomez/Justin Bieber joke and Mila Kunis/Justin Timberlake inappropriate grabbing of their private parts), however I think that the periodic number of the skits were highly unnecessary and un-intriguing(the skit starring Tyrese and Jason Sudeikis had no appeal whatsoever).

I know that fans vote for winners of all the categories, but I think they might as well rename the show, The Twighlight Franchise Awards because for the 3rd year in a row, the Vampire-Werewolf franchise took home most of the awards. Reese Witherspoon was honoured specially for her contribution to film and was given tribute speeches by Patrick Dempsey (Grey's Anatomy), Chelsea Handler (Chelsea Lately) and Robert Pattinson (whose speech happened to be the most awkward). On a musical note, average performances were given by The Foo Fighters and Lupe Fiasco, the latter brought special guest Trey Songz along with him to perform their latest collaboration.
