Music Album: Back to Love by Anthony Hamilton

One of the most underrated soul/r&b artists of all time, and in my opinion one of the best male vocalists returns with his brand new album, Back to Love. This album is Anthony Hamilton’s follow up to his 2008 album The Point of It All. Just as expected, he brings back his signature deep falsetto and a collection of soul, r&b and funk styled music that will definitely be appreciated by his core fans and lovers of traditional-meets-contemporary soul and r&b music.

The overall theme of the album aims at touching topics that reflect that though there have been tough times in relationships, people can always find that point where they decide to fall back in love all over again. The album-titled track serves as the perfect album opener because it explains the overall concept of the album. He also touches on cases where a guy makes a wrong decision by letting someone he loves go, only to realise that it was the wrong decision - this he touches on in songs like Never Let You Go (featuring Keri Hilson), the Babyface-produced Pray For Me and the very traditional Life Has A Way. There are also songs about making attempts to win back over the feelings of someone you love like he does on Who’s Loving You, the funk-infused Sucka For You and the enchanting Woo.

Mr Hamilton never disappoints, his art of storytelling merged with his signature voice and amazing songwriting has delivered yet another solid album. He will forever be one of those artists who will be loved by the critics because he does not usually follow the norm of the business of the industry, instead he stays in the soul/r&b lane and continues to deliver strong songs and amazing albums.
