Music Album: The Lady Killer by Cee-Lo Green

If you are a fan of Gnarls Barkley, then you would definitely enjoy this new album by Cee-Lo. The Lady Killer follows in true Cee-Lo fashion, filled with soulful records that will remind you of the 50s, 60s and 70s with a modern presentation. Cee-Lo has one of the most distinctive voices in the music industry (anyone remember Crazy by Gnarls Barkley).

Forget You/F**k You became a success before it was even released officially. On the record, Cee-Lo sings about being heartbroken and he presents it in a fun way, especially with its accompanying video which made it a guaranteed worldwide hit. Practically every song on this album proves to be a worthy-listen, one will find it very hard to skip tracks. His voice, the production and the overall presentation of the album makes it unbelievable. With the direction of the music industry nowadays, this album proves that uncommercial music can still make its way to the top of the charts. Love Gun, Bodies, Brighter Lights Bigger City, Cry Baby and I Want You are tracks that will definitely bring pleasure to the ears.

The internet blogs are claiming that this album is reflective of Cee-Lo's personal life, as he just endured a messy divorce, if that is why this album sounds so good, I hope he gets divorced all the time. Soul, R&B, Funk and elements of hip hop and pop are some of the genres you will get from this album. I will be waiting for the Grammys next year because I am sure that it will be a major contender in both major and minor categories. Well done Cee-Lo, well done.
