Music's biggest night has come and gone once again, and like most music events, it was not without unforgettable moments. From Lady Gaga's entry in an egg-like vessel to Nicki Minaj's animal print outfit to Christina Aguilera tripping after her performance, The 2011 Grammy was quite an interesting show. The Aretha Franklin tribute was breathtaking, Lady Gaga's first full length performance of her new song Born This Way was visually electrifying, the mash up performance from Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith and Usher was cute while performances by Cee-Lo Green & Gwyneth Paltrow, Eminem & Dr Dre and Mumfords and Sons were also worth watching.
Lady Antellbelum went home with 5 out of the 6 awards that they were nominated for taking home big awards like Song of the Year and Record of the Year. While Arcade Fire took home album of the year. Another controversy developed when Best New Artist went to Esperanza Spalding, an award that a lot of people thought Justin Bieber would win. Rihanna won an award for Best Dance Recording for Only Girl (In the World). Lady Gaga won three awards for her song Bad Romance and her Fame Monster album.
One would have thought that Eminem would dominate the Rap/ Hip Hop category. But while Eminem went home with two awards, Jay-Z took home three accolades. Fantasia, Sade and Usher were winners of R&B awards.
