2011 Orange British Academy Film Awards

The United States of America have the Academy Awards (Oscars), while the United Kingdom have the Orange British Academy Film Awards, also simply known as the BAFTAS. The BAFTAs is an award show honoring the best in British film as well as honoring other international actors, actresses and film-makers whose films have won over both fans and critics. It was no surprise that The Kings Speech dominated the show not only because it is one of the most critically acclaimed films out in the world right now, but it also boasts of amazing performances by a british cast that included Colin Firth, Helen Bonham Carter and Geoffery Rush. Sci-Fi thriller, Inception and adapted story, The Social Network were also big winners.

Jonathan Ross, who hosted the show, was as usual quite funny and charming. Overall, I think it maintained the simplicity that the show has always had for the past few years.
