Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor (February 27,1932 – March 23, 2011)

Elizabeth Taylor was born on February 27, 1932 in London, United Kingdom. Her parents had an American nationality and they moved later in New York. Being extremely beautiful and having violet eyes, Elizabeth Taylor was noticed since the age of 10 by American producers so she got her first part in "There's One Born Every Minute". She went on playing part in many movies with Lassie. Her performance was fabulous in "National Velvet" even thought she was only a child. As she grew up, Elizabeth Taylor's interest in making career increased. She starred as a main character in "The Bride's Father" in 1950.

In 1959, Elizabeth Taylor agreed to show up in "Cleopatra" signing at the same time a contract with 20th Century Fox.She won the Oscar with "Butterfield 8" in 1960 and "Who's afraid of Virginia Woolf?" in 1966. In the 70's, her career suffered a collapse, but later on, the actress continued making television movies and mini- series. Elizabeth Taylor had a line of perfumes and her act of charity was to get money in order to fight against AIDS.

Her private life was not as still as her career. She got first married when she was 18 with the hotels owner Nick Hilton. After a few months she got divorced, to remarry with the actor Michael Wilding in 1952. Five years later she divorced him and married Nike Todd in 1958. Unfortunately, Todd died one year later in a crush plane. While filming for "Cleopatra" Liz Taylor got involved in a long relationship with Richard Burton, to whom she married in 1964 after she had divorced her fourth husband, Eddie Fisher. The couple got divorced, remarried and then divorced after all in 1976.

Elizabeth Taylor's class, grace, beauty, talent and business sense set the stage for a number of our favourite female celebrities out there today. She aged gracefully and left an unremovable mark on the entertainment industry. She will be remembered for a love for the industry and her fight against AIDs throughout the world, may her gentle soul rest in peace.
