Music Album: The Remedy by Jagged Edge

One of the things you can appreciate about a group like Jagged Edge is that through the ups and downs of their career, they have not been hit by the issue of group break-ups that usually affect other groups. They have continued to record new music and perform at shows together ever since the came on to the scene in the 90s. It is refreshing to hear new material from their new album, The Remedy.

The Remedy offers the classic r&b/soul sound that have made them one of the leading groups in r&b. Over the years, they have been compared to the likes BoysIIMen and even the Jackson 5, and throughout the album they maintain their melodic vocals and comfortably flow through smooth r&b instrumentals that have been created for them. I can honestly say that the album is appropriately titled, because its seems like they released this album to show their listeners and music lovers that even in an atmosphere where r&b music is not as popular as it use to be, music reminiscent of the 90s can still find its way to music markets.

I agree that the problem with Jagged Edge is that their sound is somewhat repetitive and they need to re-invent themselves. On the other hand this is the sound that works for them and they always seem to release solid material when they stick to their established sound. Flowing Through My Veins, Lay You Down, Baby and Love On You are some of the songs that will take you on a refreshing musical journey.
