Music Album: The Good, The Bad, The Sexy by Joe

Joe Thomas returns to the music scene with his ever enchanting, soulful voice. He brings with him a collection of songs that explore the ups and downs of relationships which he creatively titles The Good, The Bad, The Sexy. On this 10 track album, it is pretty much safe to say that Joe has not lost his touch. With every album he releases, he always has songs that you can connect and relate to, which is why in my opinion his music will always remain timeless.

The album starts with Losing, a hip-hop influenced track that speaks on how one cannot always win all the time, there comes a time in life when you have to lose in order for you to understand what it means to win. Further into the album, he delves into the topic of love, exploring its romantic and seductive side on Drink Up, he sings about inviting his girl for a drink at his home so they can make love afterwards, he uses risqué lyrics like “...drink up, drink up, drink up girl, work my way down so you can squirt all on the table...” On Dear Joe, he sings about how his lover dumps him by writing him a letter to let him know that she’s gone. However on Impossible which happens to be the best song on the album, he sings about loving someone to the extent that the receiving partner expects the impossible and unfathomable. Time of Your Life and Tonight are also worthy mentions.

Joe is a veteran in his own right, he might not have the number one song in the country or a diamond-selling album, but he always manages to deliver the r&b songs that we all love and appreciate. I have no doubt that in the future, parents will tell their children that they were created while listening to the sounds of Joe, I know I definitely will.
