Music Album: All of Me by Estelle

Its been 4 years since Estelle's sophomore album that featured the grammy-winning song, American Boy (Featuring Kanye West). Since then, not only has Estelle enjoyed her success by receiving constant raves from critics and performing all over the world but she has also been dealt painful blows in her personal and professional life, after a sour relationship and quite a number of album push-backs, she details it all on this very personal album.

The album was kicked off by the first single, Break My Heart (Featuring Rick Ross), an edgy hip-hop laid track where we see Estelle singing about being apprehensive about entering into a new relationship because of fear that she might get her heart broken, Rick Ross delivers a hot verse which made the song even more hip-hop certified. Thank You is the album's second single written by Akon, is an edgy soulful ballad, where she sings about love lost in which she has no ill feelings about as she sings "these tears I cry sure won't be the last (it sure won't be the last, this pain inside never seems to pass (it never seems to pass)". Three other notable highlights on this album include the soulful yet funky Cold Crush, her vibrating three-way with Trey Songz and Chris Brown on International (Serious) and the rap-sing Speak Ya Mind.

I have followed Estelle's career closely since her debut album and I can say that I have seen the growth in her music since then. She is one artist who has evolved her image as well as her music which is refreshing to see. I will say that she still has a lot to prove vocally but her sweet soulful, melodic voice has made her star. All of Me is sincere, the music is well put together and the music was well thought out. From soul to hip-hop, she gives it all.
