Aaliyah Dana Haughton (January 16, 1979 - August 25, 2001)

Way before Rihanna, Ciara and Keri Hilson became the IT girls of the music industry. The world was under the spell of one of the most beautiful people in the world, Aaliyah Haughton. From the young age of 15 while under the mentoring of R. Kelly, up until her early 20s when she transitioned to become an energetic and edgy performer, Aaliyah gave us some of the best songs we know and love (Back and Forth, Are You That Somebody?, More Than A Woman).

Her sweet, melodic and mellow voice made her an international sensation, her beauty was the kind that exceeded that of many and her dance skills and choreography made girls want to have a flat tummy and learn how to belly-dance. For men, not only was she angelic and beautiful, she made "girls dressing like men" attractive and her sexiness was kind of like a taboo to be attracted to.

At a time when she was beginning to branch out of the music industry to spread her talent into movies and business ventures she was taken from us, losing her life in a plane crash. The music industry was in deep mourning because one of the fastest rising stars had gone. According to many of her peers and colleagues in the music industry, Aaliyah was not only a talented superstar but she was a naturaly beautiful and nice person. If Aaliyah was still alive today, she would have been 32 years old and I am sure she would still be killing the charts. RIP Aaliyah!!!!
